The Artist
Carly Isabel is an American oil painter from Montgomery, AL. She is currently studying abroad as she graduated in 2024 for her BFA in Drawing and Painting with an emphasis in Illustration at Laguna College of Art and Design. The inspiration behind her painting’s concepts are derived from various literature aspects while her light and color aesthetics originate from nature. Depicting singular scenes to encapsulate copious viewpoints from inspired sources gives control of the narrative to the painting’s tone.
Influenced by the Rococo and Romanticism art movements, the subjects in Carly’s paintings are portrayed as a counterpart to the environment. One of her focuses as an artist is to create a more sustainable practice during her painting process. She connects most with her work when her art acts as a placeholder for words.
